Despite the nourishing meal waiting for him, the puppy, utterly spent, drifted into a deep, untroubled slumber.

Three hours later, the puppy stirred from his slumber. His eyes were wide and glistening with tears, as if the shadows of a nightmare had chased him from his restless sleep.

Desperate for nourishment, the puppy lapped up the liquid food I carefully prepared. His weak and fragile body needed every drop.

Meet Rio
